GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

Arize Phoenix

Arize documents Phoenix workflows for traces, evaluations, prompt iteration and experiments on shared inputs.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Evaluate how observability and experiments work together for the application you operate. A failed trace is an investigation artifact; turning it into a stable test case is what makes the learning reusable when prompts, retrieval or models change.

What this record does not establish

Documented Phoenix workflows do not establish feature equivalence with other Arize offerings, support commitments or the accuracy of your evaluation method. Keep the named product and deployment scope explicit.

Source coverage is a research boundary, not a quality score.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

Turn interest into a useful trial.

Open the evaluation playbook ↗
A

A test worth running

Trace a retrieval-based answer, identify one unsupported response and construct a sanitized experiment case using the same relevant inputs. Compare a revised prompt on that fixed case and inspect the connection between the original trace, evaluation result and configuration.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. Retain the retrieved context and version references needed to explain the evaluated answer.
  2. Show whether a human can challenge an evaluation result without losing the original trace and scoring record.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

Which capabilities belong to Phoenix and which require the separate Arize AX offering?

02

What deployment, retention and access-control evidence supports the intended use?

03

What underlying assurance documents are available, and which claims remain unverified?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.

KEEP THE RECORD USEFUL

A dossier should stand up to scrutiny.
