GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

F5 AI Guardrails

F5 describes guardrails for prompt injection, data exfiltration and jailbreak attacks.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Evaluate a specific application's request and response path rather than a general claim of AI protection. Define the behavior that would constitute prompt injection, data exfiltration or a jailbreak in that application, then test the control at the point where it is expected to intervene.

What this record does not establish

The source describes named guardrail threat categories. It does not establish prevention rates, complete application coverage or feature equivalence with adjacent F5 products and historical acquired offerings.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

A

A test worth running

Use a sandbox assistant with a synthetic protected value and a permitted task. Run direct and retrieved-content attack cases, record the observed application action and include benign requests with similar wording. Inspect the outcome when the guardrail service or an upstream dependency fails.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. Preserve request, application and policy versions with the exact observed intervention.
  2. Treat fail-open, fail-closed and false-positive handling as separate acceptance decisions.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

What is the relationship between CalypsoAI's previous product and the current F5 offering?

02

What deployment, retention and access-control evidence supports the intended use?

03

What underlying assurance documents are available, and which claims remain unverified?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.

KEEP THE RECORD USEFUL
