Freed AI Scribe

Freed describes an AI scribe that turns healthcare visits into clinical documentation. Its Scribe help center explains BAA inclusion in platform terms and signed-copy requests, while its security page describes retention and de-identified-note training practices.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Choose the Scribe workflow and its contract before considering adjacent services. Evaluate how a clinician reviews and corrects a note, and what the retention and training terms mean for your practice. A separate front-desk workflow needs its own data-flow and agreement review.

What this record does not establish

The evidence supports Freed's published Scribe BAA process and its stated retention and de-identified-note training practices. It does not establish an executed organization-wide agreement, deletion effectiveness or clinical performance. A general 'no recordings stored' reassurance should be read alongside the more specific temporary-retention description.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

Turn interest into a useful trial.

A

A test worth running

Create a fictional encounter with a corrected dosage and an uncertain diagnosis. Inspect the draft, make a correction and demonstrate the proposed EHR handoff in a test environment. Ask for the recording lifecycle and configured note-deletion setting to be shown, then record which behavior was demonstrated and which remains a supplier statement.

GovernAtlas editorial proposal. We have not performed this test.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. Retain the corrected synthetic note and the reviewer's sign-off.
  2. Confirm signing authority and whether the platform BAA or a separately executed agreement governs the practice.
  3. Record the audio and note retention settings and obtain answers about de-identification and training use.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

01
vendor asserted

Freed's security page says its AI is trained on de-identified notes. This is not a blanket no-training commitment. The supplier's de-identification method and the settings and terms applying to a healthcare customer remain matters for review.

Freed's security page says recordings are temporarily retained until note summaries and quality checks are complete, then deleted; notes can be manually deleted or configured for 30-day auto-deletion. Scope: the vendor's published retention description, not an observed deletion test.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

Which service, plan, region and integrations does the proposed BAA cover?

02

What retention, deletion and model-training terms apply to our exact workflow?

03

Who validates outputs and owns the clinical or operational decision?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.
