GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

LangWatch

LangWatch describes tracing, agent scenario testing, dataset and production evaluations, and versioned prompt management. Its captured documentation distinguishes the self-hosted open core from separately licensed enterprise features; no blanket license or deployment parity is independently established.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Start with a workflow that must connect a production failure to a reviewed change. Tracing, simulated conversations, evaluation and prompt deployment are useful only if the team can reconstruct the evidence linking them. Choose the cloud or self-hosted operating scope explicitly, including which separately licensed features are essential to the buying decision.

What this record does not establish

The captured documentation explicitly describes an open core and separately licensed enterprise features. It does not independently establish full tracing coverage, simulation realism or self-hosted/cloud parity for your requirements. Review the exact feature split, operator responsibilities, sensitive trace fields and export behavior instead of assuming that a shared codebase settles those questions.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

Turn interest into a useful trial.

A

A test worth running

In a proposed pilot, capture a failed multi-turn interaction, turn it into a versioned scenario and compare two prompt revisions against it. Include a simulated-user case that passes while a human reviewer disagrees. Inspect the underlying trace, evaluator configuration, scenario version and release decision. Repeat after a prompt rollback and verify that the prior results still point to the versions actually tested.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. A reproducible failure-to-scenario-to-release record with human disagreements and prompt versions preserved.
  2. A dated deployment and license matrix, plus a trace/export review for the selected environment.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

Can an evaluation failure be linked to the exact trace, dataset, prompt and deployment version?

02

Which deployment-specific evidence establishes access, retention, export and deletion behavior?

03

What happens when capture or evaluation fails, and who owns the unresolved gap?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.

KEEP THE RECORD USEFUL

A dossier should stand up to scrutiny.
