New Relic AI Monitoring

New Relic documents AI monitoring through its APM agents for supported models and frameworks. It describes token and request/response events, user feedback, trace-level investigation, alerts and dashboards, and pre-ingestion sensitive-data drop filters.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Begin with the application instrumentation already operated by your team. The requirement is to correlate AI events with service failures while capturing only approved fields. Confirm the supported library and agent version before assuming an existing APM installation includes the AI-specific data needed for review.

What this record does not establish

The documentation limits automatic capture to supported models and frameworks. A drop-filter feature does not independently establish that every sensitive field is removed. Check instrumentation compatibility, field configuration, access and retention; model-quality conclusions require a separate evaluation method.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

A

A test worth running

In a proposed sandbox, correlate negative feedback with a model response and an upstream tool timeout. Insert synthetic sensitive markers, configure the intended drop filter and inspect received events to determine which fields were excluded. Repeat after an agent upgrade and compare identifiers and event coverage.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. An application-to-AI-event trace with feedback and timeout correlation.
  2. A before/after synthetic-marker capture review tied to the agent/filter version.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

An application-to-AI-event trace with feedback and timeout correlation. Can this be demonstrated in the selected environment?

02

A before/after synthetic-marker capture review tied to the agent/filter version. Who owns and signs off this evidence?

03

Which version, deployment and commercial entitlement are included in the proposed configuration?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.
