GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

OvalEdge

OvalEdge describes catalog, lineage, glossary, quality, access and policy workflows with catalog agents and human oversight. Its current page describes licensing by selected connectors, capabilities and curators rather than establishing a universal feature entitlement.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Use an unresolved business definition to judge whether metadata curation improves an operating decision. Generated context should have a source, an owner and a correction path. Choose a term used differently by two teams and identify which downstream report or agent depends on resolving it.

What this record does not establish

Advertised connector counts, ROI, fast adoption and trustworthy generated context are not independently established. Verify selected capabilities, connector versions, human review permissions, source refresh and export scope. A catalog label is not proof of native access enforcement.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

A

A test worth running

In a proposed pilot, ingest the competing definitions, inspect generated context and ask a steward to resolve the conflict with rationale. Trace the chosen definition to a data product and its access workflow. Disconnect a source and inspect whether the team can distinguish stale metadata from a reviewed definition.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. A conflicting-term/generated-context/steward-decision record.
  2. A connector/licensing matrix and source-freshness/export demonstration.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

Can you provide a conflicting-term/generated-context/steward-decision record for the selected configuration?

02

A connector/licensing matrix and source-freshness/export demonstration. Who owns and reviews this evidence?

03

Which current version, edition, integrations and operating responsibilities are included?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.

KEEP THE RECORD USEFUL
