GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

Protecto

Protecto describes sensitive-data detection, tokenization/masking, controlled reveal and context-based access decisions for AI workflows. Its page positions these controls across prompts, retrieval, agent/tool calls and model gateways, with audit records.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Define who may recover a masked value and for what task. Detection accuracy is only part of the decision: a reversible tokenization service also creates a privileged reveal path. Map that path and its policy owner before sending even a synthetic version of your application data through the system.

What this record does not establish

No published accuracy, semantic-preservation or legal-compliance claim is independently validated. Confirm supported data types, key custody, vault operation, logging and fail behavior. A successful public demonstration does not establish protection across every application path or language.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

Turn interest into a useful trial.

A

A test worth running

Propose a synthetic account note containing mixed sensitive and ordinary facts. Run two roles and two tasks, compare the masked context and attempt an unauthorized reveal. Preserve policy inputs, transformed payloads and audit events. Include an unexpected entity format and a vault outage, checking both exposure and application behavior.

GovernAtlas editorial proposal. We have not performed this test.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. A role/task-to-mask/reveal decision record including a denied reveal.
  2. A vault/key responsibility map and an outage review with synthetic markers.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

A role/task-to-mask/reveal decision record including a denied reveal. Can this be demonstrated in the selected environment?

02

A vault/key responsibility map and an outage review with synthetic markers. Who owns and signs off this evidence?

03

Which version, deployment and commercial entitlement are included in the proposed configuration?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.

KEEP THE RECORD USEFUL
