GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

Sentra

Sentra describes data discovery/classification, data hygiene, identity/access context, shadow-AI protection and remediation workflows. Its page distinguishes a vendor-operated SaaS layer from scanning components in the customer environment; exact data flows need verification.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Define what scanning is permitted to read and what the operator receives. In-environment scanning can reduce some movement while still producing findings, metadata or evaluator calls. Choose a narrow source and a synthetic sensitive marker, then map every destination before expanding privileges across the estate.

What this record does not establish

Advertised accuracy, petabyte-scale results, savings and assertions that no data leaves are not independently established. Verify scanner/control-plane boundaries, permissions, retained fields, regional dependencies and selected remediation features for your deployment.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

Turn interest into a useful trial.

A

A test worth running

In a proposed sandbox, discover a known sensitive object and an intentionally atypical one, inspect classification and owner context, then propose a remediation action. Require human approval for a change, challenge a false positive and disable the scanner to inspect stale evidence handling. Trace any marker present in exports or external requests.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. A known-object discovery and false-positive review with source coverage gaps.
  2. A scanner/control-plane data-flow map and approved remediation/failure trail.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

Can you provide a known-object discovery and false-positive review with source coverage gaps for the selected configuration?

02

A scanner/control-plane data-flow map and approved remediation/failure trail. Who owns and reviews this evidence?

03

Which current version, edition, integrations and operating responsibilities are included?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.
