GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

Varonis

Varonis describes data discovery/classification, access governance, activity monitoring and permission remediation, alongside separate AI, identity, database-monitoring and managed-service offerings. Supported environments and packages require configuration-specific review.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Use one permission problem to test the transition from visibility to an approved change. A product can show an excessive grant without proving the proposed correction preserves legitimate use. Identify the business owner and the operator who can reverse a mistaken change before enabling broad automation.

What this record does not establish

The site’s day-one outcomes, risk-reduction percentages and saved hours are not independently established. Data Security, Atlas, Interceptor, monitoring and services are separate scope questions. Confirm exact package, source privileges, automation authority and evidence retention.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

Turn interest into a useful trial.

A

A test worth running

In a proposed sandbox, create an over-shared synthetic file or table and a legitimate exception. Review the finding, reject one proposed action and approve a narrower correction. Inspect resulting permissions, application behaviour, events and rollback. Compare a newly discovered object with an old one after collection is interrupted.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. A finding/rejected-proposal/approved-change/rollback chain.
  2. A package and coverage matrix with stale collection and legitimate exceptions visible.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

Can you provide a finding/rejected-proposal/approved-change/rollback chain for the selected configuration?

02

A package and coverage matrix with stale collection and legitimate exceptions visible. Who owns and reviews this evidence?

03

Which current version, edition, integrations and operating responsibilities are included?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.
