GOVERNATLAS / PRODUCT DOSSIER

Workiva Platform

Workiva documents API endpoints for reading and modifying permissions on platform resources. Scope: the 2026-01-01 API documentation; entitlement, workspace roles and effective permissions must be checked for the selected environment.

01 / CONTEXT & SCOPE

Understand the proposition.
Define the boundary.

The decision to make

Evaluate access governance at the resource and integration boundary. For a technical assessment, the useful question is whether an authorized integration can identify who has access, make the intended change and preserve enough evidence to explain the resulting permission state.

What this record does not establish

This profile is scoped to preserved official permissions API documentation, not a comprehensive review of Workiva's reporting or GRC modules. The support workflow article returned 403 during capture and is not used to publish an approval-workflow claim.

02 / YOUR EVALUATION

Turn interest into a useful trial.

A

A test worth running

Use a synthetic document and test users in an approved environment. Read assigned permissions, request a permitted change and attempt a change using an insufficiently privileged identity. Inspect the resulting state and activity evidence. Confirm workspace-role and resource-permission interactions separately.

GovernAtlas editorial proposal. We have not performed this test.

B

Evidence to bring back

  1. Pin the API version and named solution, and distinguish a documented endpoint from an entitlement in the quoted environment.
  2. Verify the effective permission result as an ordinary user and preserve denied as well as successful operations.

03 / DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE

Read the claim. Inspect the basis.

Each statement retains its classification and preserved source. A vendor assertion is not an independent test result.

04 / BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Better questions.
A clearer decision.

Resolve these with the provider and your own evaluation team.

01

How do resource permissions interact with workspace roles and inherited access in the proposed environment?

02

Can the integration demonstrate a denied permission change and preserve the activity record?

03

Which permission and process endpoints are generally available in the selected API version and solution?

Regulatory applicability requires a separate, current determination. Inclusion is not certification.

KEEP THE RECORD USEFUL
